With Windows 10 I'm glad to say Microsoft have decided to follow my (and many others) advice on keeping Windows Installation Media Up to Date. They have partnered with major OEMs such as Intel, Atheros and Broadcom to make sure Windows 10 has inbuilt drivers for most wireless cards. As a consequence Microsoft will likely have native driver support for your Wireless Card. They may also download a newer driver automatically from Windows Update.

Unfortunately Dell do not Update their Drivers and Downloads by using Hardware IDs and handle drivers on a model by model basis. Moreover they do not provide hardware IDs on their Drivers and Downloads page (some other OEMs have the edge on Dell here).
There may also be some Toshiba Bluetooth Cards rebranded Dell Wireless 350 and 360. These are obsolete as Toshiba provide no new drivers for Windows 8.1 or 10 and should be replaced by a Broadcom Dell Wireless 355 or Bluetooth USB dongle.
There is an increasing demand for more frequent driver updates and OEMs such as Dell do not update the drivers as often as the direct vendor. There is an Unofficial Czech Atheros Driver Website which lists the latest Atheros Wireless Card Drivers which has got extremely popular. The unofficial drivers may not support Dell Wireless Cards in all cases. The latest Dell Atheros drivers I can find are listed below. The ones in bold will work for most of the Atheros cards. Later versions not tested with all the cards please leave feedback.
If you want you can test this by installing and checking the driver version in the device manager, see here but go to the driver tab: -drivers-checking-hardware-ids-and-downloading-and-installing-dell-system-drivers-in-the-correct-order/checking-hardware-ids-in-the-device-manager/The version I listed updated the driver in my system.
If you cannot install R242438 then install the driver via the device manager: -drivers-checking-hardware-ids-and-downloading-and-installing-dell-system-drivers-in-the-correct-order/driver-installation-via-the-device-manager/
Good night kind sir, i would like to ask you for your help, is it possible to update a Dell Studio 1735 from Vista 32bit to 7 32/64 bit, are there any device drivers incompatible with this kind of change im trying to do Thanks in advance!
The Bluetooth 355 is a Broadcom card and was optional on that model. If BIOS doesn't see it and the wifi switch is set to turn on/off wifi and bluetooth then as far as Windows concerned theres no Bluetooth module installed so drivers won't help.
Provide the hardware IDs as there are variants in each model: -drivers-checking-hardware-ids-and-downloading-and-installing-dell-system-drivers-in-the-correct-order/checking-hardware-ids-in-the-device-manager/

I bought a used early E-series Dell laptop1. Installed from microsoft's generic Vista x64 files.2. Wireless did not function. Also as I recall, no ethernet.3. Saw many unidentified devices in devmgmt.msc4. After much searching (Dell's service tag lookup is nearly useless for downloads), found a Vista Driver Pack Cab. -vista-A02-R236901.CAB Then copied the cab to the 'new' laptop. Unzip (extract).5. For each unidentified device in devmgmt.msc, selected the device, and forced hardware wizard to reinstall drivers6. Selected option for me give to hardware wizard path to the drivers in the unpacked cab.7. This succeeded for all unidentifed devices.
I have a dell inspiron 7537 laptop, it has a intel dual band-N7260 wifi. It's range is not good, also not stable.I want to change it to a AC wifi card but Non-intel, like broadcom.I liked this one: -Broadcom-BCM94352HMB-802-11ac-867Mbps-WLAN-BT-4-0-Half-Mini-PCIE-Card-/251478784070pt=US_Internal_Network_Cards&hash=item3a8d4db846will it work
i have a dell Inspiron 15R N5010,its was pre installed with windows 7 64 bit ulimate, then i replaced it with windows7 32 bit ultimate,n by mistake its wifi driver is deleted n it says tht no Intell pro set wireless adapter is present due to which my wifi is not working.i have tried everythng to recovery its driver bt not able to recover it and i also downloded the drivers from dell site but it says tht the operating system is in compatible with the driver.so now i need a wifi driver for Inspiron 15R N5010 with windows 32 bit ultimate.can you help me with tht.
First why have you installed 32 Bit and not 64 Bit It will perform worse.Secondly what are the hardware IDs -drivers-checking-hardware-ids-and-downloading-and-installing-dell-system-drivers-in-the-correct-order/checking-hardware-ids-in-the-device-manager/If no network controller shows in the device manager tap [Fn] and [F2] (or just [F2] depending on how your function keys are set). This should toggle WiFi On/Off.
Thank you! The drivers you provided for the 1506 Atheros were slightly newer than the ones Dell would \"recommend\" for the Lattitude 55xx series, and it resolved an issue where by those 1506 cards would not connect to an older A/B/G router. It kept trying to negotiate 2.4ghz N, and the access point would just fail them, the laptop would not fall back to G. With the 306 revision driver it does fall back to G successfully! (298 was the newest revision Dell would officially provide)

Like others I am stuck trying to update to Windows 10 with an Vaio laptop with an Intel 5100 AGN wireless card. Are there any substitute drivers or do you think there is any chance of a third party driver to be written as Intel does not seem to support any longer
Now that your system is a Windows 10 Device, I advise Clean Reinstallation of Windows 10. See here step 4 onwards: -clean-install-of-windows-10/The Clean Reinstall will remove the conflicts between old system drivers and drivers inbuilt to Windows 10 and hence should remove your performance losses.
Oh my GOODNESS. You are truly a lifesaver. I have a Dell Inspirion 3147, and last night for no apparent reason, my wireless adapter disappeared. My husband managed to find an uninstalled Windows 10 update and installed it, which seemed to correct the problem, until this morning when it disappeared again. I searched all over the Internet trying to find a solution to this problem; the only software-related idea I found was to update the driver (I liked that a heck of a lot more than trying to open up my laptop and \"reseat\" the wireless adapter!!). Dell's website was utterly worthless. When I first downloaded what I thought would install a new driver, it turned out to be a \"driver installation toolkit\" that needed a NETWORK CONNECTION to update drivers. Kinda tricky when the wireless adapter doesn't work!! When attempting to download just the driver, I got Dell's site telling me that my laptop had \"not been tested for Windows 10\" and absolutely no drivers for any system higher than Windows 98. (Who uses 98 anymore, for heaven's sake) By continuing to search, I found your site. It never would have occurred to me to visit the wireless driver manufacturer for the driver! Thanks to your Atheros links, I found the right driver and could actually install it on my laptop. Now my wireless is up and running again! Thank you SO much, this is such a needed service!

Can you recomend a wireless card that works well with the D630 and has drivers that actually work, have a total of 5 D630's in our housebut have trouble getting the wifi to work fluently, think they all have Intel 4965 cards in them, now they constantly drop there wifi conection and now constantly BSOD with the netwls64.sys error that seems very common on that wifi card, tried every proset version I can find, used compatabilty mode but still constant BSOD ,get the Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal with the crash and Netwlv64.sys , tried several fresh Instals of Win 10 64bit, it virtually unuseable if I try the 32 bit version, virtually crashes the moment you booy up, so maybe a possibilty of a different wifi card, 4 of them run the Intel graphics , one has the Nvidia graphics, set, most shun this model but it's been the most stable and fastest peforming of the lot 153554b96e
